Face Cité - Chambres D'Hôtes Au Pied De La Cité De Carcassonne

Rue Michel Sabatier 4, Carcassonne, 11000

Rider experience

It's a basic, but lovely B&B guest house with garage parking for bikes and great value. We got a lovely warm welcome, the owner was watching for us and came down to open the garage and usher us in. Different host for breakfast but just as lovely. Rooms with a view of the citadel, and close enough for an easy walk up into the citadel for dinner.

If you want a comfortable, high-value pit stop right at the foot of Carcassonne's historic citadel, this guesthouse hits all the right marks. The hosts, Nicolas and Bernard, are highly praised by travelers for being incredibly welcoming, attentive, and accommodating. The bedrooms are beautifully updated, exceptionally clean, and fitted with high-quality soundproof windows that shield you from any nearby street traffic noise. Best of all for riders, the inclusion of a completely free, locked indoor garage removes any anxiety about leaving your bike out overnight. Plus, the fresh morning breakfast is highly rated for its quality and portion size.

Keep in mind that standard check-in is strictly limited to a three-hour afternoon window between 15:00 and 18:00, so you will need to plan your day's ride carefully to ensure you don't roll up late without notifying the hosts. Pets are strictly not allowed anywhere on the property grounds, and hosting events or parties is forbidden. While there is no full-service restaurant on site for evening meals, you are only a short 8-to-10 minute stroll away from the vibrant local bistros lining Rue Trivalle and the inner castle walls.
