Rider experience
Great location hostel, pretty much in the centee of Bayeux. Ex school. No car parking there but will open the locked gate to the covered bikebl parking. Covered parking in old playground with locked access. Quite a large area, was the playground when it was a school. Dormitory accommodation, would be good for large groups as it is a fairly large hostel. Showers and the common rooms you'd expect fron hostel accommodation. A short walk into town and the bars and restaurants. The tapestry is within walking distance if thats your bag. Good location for the landing beaches and the war graves.

If you're tracking through Normandy to see the D-Day sites and want a simple, highly secure base that won't break the bank, this place hits the mark. It's a massive historic building—an old 18th-century convent—right in the middle of Bayeux, meaning you can easily walk to the local pubs and the tapestry museum in minutes. For riders, the massive win is the enclosed inner courtyards. You roll through the gates and leave your bike parked completely off the street, meaning zero stress about security while you sleep. The vibe is very relaxed and social, with big common lounges and a garden area that are perfect if you're traveling with a few riding buddies.

Just be aware that this operates strictly as a hostel or group lodge, so don't expect standard hotel luxuries. Many layouts feature bunk beds and shared bathroom facilities down the hall, and there is no elevator or AC due to the historic age of the building. Crucially, the reception hours are tight and they don't allow late check-ins after 21:00, so manage your riding schedule carefully so you don't get locked out. Also, towels aren't automatically included in the base rate, so either pack your own microfibre towel or be ready to pay a few Euros to rent one at the desk.
