Rider experience
Just outside of town is a great place with covered bike parking. Total Arab style setting. Free breakfast as most hotels in Morocco They can arrange camel rides 4wd, and buggy rides as well. This is were the real Sahara starts.

This place is an absolute lifesaver of a pit stop if you are riding down to the true edge of the Moroccan desert. Pulling into Merzouga after a long, scorching haul down the N13 can take it out of you, but this traditional Kasbah lets you roll straight off the track onto a large, solid courtyard where the bikes are tucked away safely. The host, Mohamed, is a top-tier guy who greets you with hot mint tea before you even have your lid off. The rooms have strong, functional AC which is crucial out here, and the on-site restaurant serves up a cracking chicken tagine that hits the spot after a long stint in the saddle. It is a fantastic, relaxed home base for exploring the desert loops.

Since you are right on the fringe of the Sahara, blowing sand gets into absolutely everything, including the open patio parking area, so make sure you check your chain and seals before heading back out. There isn't an enclosed indoor garage, though the gated walls do keep things highly secure. Also, breakfast operates on very relaxed desert time and usually isn't served until around 8:45 AM. If you are planning an early 6:00 AM kick-start to beat the midday heat for an 8-hour transit day up to Fes, make sure to tell Mohamed the night before so the crew can organize something early for you.
